SSPATCH.EXE
SSPATCH is a patch program for Sunflower Systems products.
Put the program to be patched in the current directory. Put SSPATCH.EXE
anywhere along the DOS PATH. From the DOS prompt, command
SSPATCH patch_file_name
where "patch_file_name" is the name of a patch script file, including
drive and path if not the current drive and current directory. If you do
not provide "patch_file_name" SSPATCH will prompt for it.
The name of the program to be patched is included in the patch script file.
The patch script file is a simple ASCII file which may be displayed by
TYPEing it to the screen, COPYing it to the printer, or using any
file lister program. If you have not renamed the program file, you
probably won't need to read the patch script file.
SSPATCH is a "down and dirty", semi-friendly program. It will save
the original program file with the same name but the extension .OLD.
It will not erase an existing file of that name with the extension
.OLD. It will try to validate the program being patched by comparing
the contents of the script file to those of the program file. If it
encounters any problems, it will attempt to give an explanation of
the problem, then quit without changing the contents or the name of
the program file.
